UPDATES
Assalamualaikum & Hello everyone!
It has been a hectic few months for me, so forgive me for not updating much on this blog. Truth is, it's easier to make updates via Facebook and a lot of customers reach me through FB too. The picture albums there are more organized, so head over there for much easier viewing of my previous work, OK.
Now, I've never mentioned it here, but I can also provide special dietary cakes and cupcakes. So if you're in Penang and looking for something vegan (eggless & dairy-free) or gluten-free (no flour) or sugarless/sugar-free, do shoot me an email and we'll talk.
Deliveries to Penang Island and surrounding areas is still available, but due to rising costs, I'll have to increase the delivery charge. You would understand, right? The fuel, time, energy, not to mention, vehicle maintenance, and the worst of all, traffic jams - they can just zap you dry :)
Hugs & kisses to all my loyal customers. Love you guys lots!

Green Green Grass Of Home
Kak Hajar's (again!) latest order last week, this time for makan-makan just for her and kids. She said her kids tak puas-puas lagi makan coz the previous orders, most of the cupcakes were given away to family and friends.
These three boxes are for them alone - no more sharing!
Kak Hajar specifically requested I make green grasses to top of her red velvets. Her own words were "Entah, akak rasa segaaar je bila makan." Hehe, macam-macam. She also instructed me to just make simple designs, coz these are pretty last minute too. Today order, esok nak! *pengsan*
10 pcs in Choc Mod Mint and 15 Lemony Snickett's.
She wanted grasses too, so I added some flowery details, just to sweeten them up a bit. The previous cuppies I made for her were rather neutral and boyish (the Liverpool & golf cuppies in the previous posts)
Oops, there was another box of Cookie Crumble cupcakes which I've forgotten to snap pics of, but you already know how they look like, right?

Free Themed Cuppies
These are part of Kak Hajar's order the other day. She instructed me to just make simple cuppies coz right after I delivered her two boxes of cuppies, she ordered FOUR more to be delivered the next day! *pengsan*

A box of cookie crumble cuppies. She likes 'em with this simple-yet-yummy look.
I recommened the Lemony Snickett's - lemon cuppies with cream cheese. They loved it!
Choc Mod Mint - to satisfy Kak Hajar's hubby's craving for something cool & breezy.
Thanks so much Kak Hajar!

BAMBINO BABIES REUNITED
One of my sweetest memory of being in a small online community was the now defunct, so-called elite Union of the Bambinos, where funny, smart-talking 'babies' unite and plot to take over the world, which was started by a friend in Singapore. Wow, those were the good old days.
So imagine my surprise when Irah, a former member sent me a message that she and her whole brood is coming down to Penang for a holiday and would like to order some cuppies for her daughter's birthday. I was supposed to attend Ita's wedding in Bayan Lepas anyway on the same day, so I agreed to do it. It was exciting to finally meet her now 5-year-old sweet but sassy 'baby', Ilya Firzana.
It's funny how each delivery I make turns into a mini adventure, which details I shall spare the readers of this blog. Maybe in my other blog. Again, maybe. This entry is already stale news, by the time I draft a post in the other blog, the news is already breeding fungus! Eek!
Just some simple birthday theme cuppies in chocolate with chocolate ganache & lemony snickett's.
Happy Birthday Izza. Aunty hopes you guys had a wonderful vacation in Penang. And thank you so much to Irah, it was very nice to have finally met you and Ilya :)

FARISHA.NET
Once upon a time, there lived a princess named Farisha, who turned four. She had long curly wurly hair and even curlier lips (suka muncung la tu!)
Farisha, Aunty Anne wants to see you smile, just once!

As usual, Farisha's mommy ordered their family's favourite flavour, Lemony Snickett's, Zesty Lemon cupcakes with real lemon juice and tangy cream cheese frosting.
Thank you so much, Wani.
Do visit Farisha.net and browse through their wonderful collection of exclusive handmade tudungs.

LIFESAVER
Warning: This is a recycled post!
These pics were snitched from Wani's FB page. Sweet, right?
Wani also order another two sets of 25 mini ones. I hope Farisha like the simple flora design.
Again, my hardcore fan Wani ordered this set for her hubby's birthday last 4th Nov. Yet again, her choice is lemony snickett's with cream cheese! While going through my cupcake photos on FB, her 3 year old dot Farisha chose this design for her darling Ayah.
And of course, it was a perfect choice coz for Wani (who explained to me when I couldn't believe that someone really liked that theme of mine!) her hubby is her lifesaver, her anchor, her dream boat life boa, whose been her rock in the choppy ocean of life. Uiihhhh, deep stuff there. Haha.

Thank you again Wani, for being such a wonderful supporter of this little business of mine. And a happy 7-days-late-birthday wish you Azwan! Next year, I wanna see you janggut grow even longer!

FALL BLOSSOMS
If you answer that they *almost* look like the flowers in my blog background, then my friend, you're a winner!
The colour combination of autumny green and subtle pink is my inspiration for these cupcakes which I made for Kak Aiza's kenduri tahlil two Saturdays ago, but tried as I might, I still got a little off, didn't I? Made the colour a deep shade of maroon coz I want a colour that stand out (maroon is a gorgeous fall colour, dontcha think?) but I think I didn't get the shade of green that I planned. Mixed some yellow and green but too much yellow is seen here.
After a frantic search for the perfect box at a few baking supplies shops with Kak Aiza a few days before the event, I'm glad I found this lovely butterfly box at A to Z, the wedding supplies store in Seberang Jaya.
I had fun with my daughter when I was preparing the beautiful boxes for the cupcakes. I finished my baking project quite late, and woke up early to pack the cupcakes in the boxes. I also had to pack soe bahulus for my Mom coz coincidentally we were gonna have our own kenduri tahlil that morning.
I hope the guests appreciate my labour of love and would be gobsmacked at how delicious those lemony snickett's cupcakes are.

HAPPY ANNI WAN & WANI
My long lost junior from secondary school ordered this for her wedding anniversary today.
In this box, 25 pcs of moist choc cupcakes with buttercream
In another box, another 25 of vanilla and lemon cupcakes with blue roses and purple haze theme. Dah dia berkenan theme ni, lawa(k) katanya :D

Thank you so much Wani for giving me this great opportunity and for coming all the way from Parit Buntar to pick up her order. It's been so long, kan? We'll meet up again when you visit your mom's place in Bertam, Insya-allah.

Wani's feedback on my cupcakes was nothing short but glowing. Her own words (via sms) were "nyummylicious, "the icing doesn't give you headaches" and *gasp* even better than other cupcakes she tasted before! Now, that makes all the hard work really worthwhile. So sweet of you Wani, my little postman (personal joke!)

SCHOOL DAZE
Last Tuesday, on a whim, you can say I 'committed suicide' by trying to sell my cupcakes at a school function in Prai. It was risky, but somehow I needed the adrenaline rush!
To keep costs very low so that kids can afford my cuppies, I used a base of krimwell for my frosting, and I still think they taste pretty good. They held up quite well too under the hot weather.

On top tier are chocolate cuppies with cookie dough frosting, second tier coconut cupcakes, lemon cupcakes and vanilla with vanilla buttercream (bottom). I made around 50 plus of these small cuppies, selling at RM1 each.
If only I didn't have to get my behind back to my office by noon, I couldn't have sold all my cupcakes. I arrived at the school around 10 am and had to leave by 11.30 am. But it didn't matter that the coconut ones weren't such a hit with the students (they don't know what they're missing!) but at least I know chocolate cuppies are sure bestsellers. The remaining dozen cupcakes or so were sent somewhere else (will post about this place soon) and to my relief, were sold out by Friday.

Surrounded by these friendly young people makes me think and feel young! These girls who helped me with my little makeshift stall were rewarded with a cupcake each. I had so much fun chatting with them!
