UPDATES

Assalamualaikum & Hello everyone!

It has been a hectic few months for me, so forgive me for not updating much on this blog. Truth is, it's easier to make updates via Facebook and a lot of customers reach me through FB too. The picture albums there are more organized, so head over there for much easier viewing of my previous work, OK.

Now, I've never mentioned it here, but I can also provide special dietary cakes and cupcakes. So if you're in Penang and looking for something vegan (eggless & dairy-free) or gluten-free (no flour) or sugarless/sugar-free, do shoot me an email and we'll talk.

Deliveries to Penang Island and surrounding areas is still available, but due to rising costs, I'll have to increase the delivery charge. You would understand, right? The fuel, time, energy, not to mention, vehicle maintenance, and the worst of all, traffic jams - they can just zap you dry :)

Hugs & kisses to all my loyal customers. Love you guys lots!

Lavender Blue Birthday

Atiqah ordered this set, kind of last minute, for her sister, who is a fan of the colour lavender and anything purple. I don't know what happened to my eyes but these cuppies looked too blue in broad daylight when they looked perfectly lavender to me the previous night. I think I must have been confused with that lullaby I always listen to on Nunu's nursery rhymes CD.

Flavour was vanilla with blueberry filling and vanilla buttercream. Glad the birthday girl loved it. Thank you so much Atiqah for the order!

Ebi's Dream Cake

Another last minute project for my niece's birthday, Ebi. The barbie cake made her grand entrance, an hour after the makan-makan party started. Ha, talk about being fashionably late. I'm not totally satisfied with my work this time, coz I changed my mind halfway to make this cake from a buttercream to a fondant cake. I was worried the cake would not survive the journey to my in laws' house if it wasn't secured with a fondant dress.

Despite the ala-ala shabby chic outcome, the birthday girl was ecstatic to get her cake. Three layers of chocolate, blueberry & vanilla cake filled with cream cheese and frosted with blueberry buttercream. So happy to see the kids gobble the cake up.

Blossom

I had butterflies in my tummy to present my first stacked wedding cake.

It's not that big, the bottom layer is 10 inches in diameter, the middle 8 inches and the top is 7 inches (which I think 6 inches would be more apropriate considering the size ratio between the bottom and the second layer) and the whole cake is +- 8 inches tall.

The cake is a mix of strawberry, blueberry and vanilla flavoured cake with strawberry buttercream. Due to the rainy weather, the fondant got a little wet *stress*, but I hope it doesn't look so disasterous since I don't use dowels at all to support the cake (small only mah).

This is a cake that wouldn't cost a bomb, so to brides/grooms/wedding planners out there who has a tight budget but want a grand looking cake, do drop me a line yah.

Thank you soooo much to my sis Umi for the order. Selamat Pengantin Baru to her cousin Eida and Faris.

PRINCESSES FOR PUTERI

The Disney Princesses is a great merchandising brand, isn't it? Although I think that the commercialization can go a bit overboard sometimes (come on, RM3.50 for 10 pcs of cookies?), I'm just glad my daughter has decided to be a more girly & acts more princessy when I introduced them to her.

This set of disney princesses cupcakes were for my niece, Puteri. Made this quite some time ago, so I couldn't exactly remember the flavour of the cake. It could be strawberry or peach, I'm sorry I'm so forgetful!

But I'm sure the buttercream flavour was blueberry.

RM50 for M sized cupcakes, plus another RM20 for the edible image.

ROSES & DELIGHTFUL DOTS

The following was the order by Rafiza for her engagement hantaran, who stumbled upon my blog and coincidentally, a junior of a friend and fellow USM alumni. She wanted a simple but sweet deco but it was clear that this lady has more interest in the taste of the cakes rather than the looks. My kinda girl :)

Rafiza also specified that she'd like a pink & purple theme, and since I had some pink souffle cups in stock (a bit larger that the normal M sized cups) but I think it wouldn't matter if I exceeded their expectations a little bit.

Anyway, I really hope the recipients of these cupcakes like them. They're chocolate moist with chopped strawberries mix-in and yummy blueberry jam buttercream.

Selamat Bertunang, Rafiza!
