UPDATES
Assalamualaikum & Hello everyone!
It has been a hectic few months for me, so forgive me for not updating much on this blog. Truth is, it's easier to make updates via Facebook and a lot of customers reach me through FB too. The picture albums there are more organized, so head over there for much easier viewing of my previous work, OK.
Now, I've never mentioned it here, but I can also provide special dietary cakes and cupcakes. So if you're in Penang and looking for something vegan (eggless & dairy-free) or gluten-free (no flour) or sugarless/sugar-free, do shoot me an email and we'll talk.
Deliveries to Penang Island and surrounding areas is still available, but due to rising costs, I'll have to increase the delivery charge. You would understand, right? The fuel, time, energy, not to mention, vehicle maintenance, and the worst of all, traffic jams - they can just zap you dry :)
Hugs & kisses to all my loyal customers. Love you guys lots!

Merci beacoup to Ilie for this order of carrot-walnut cuppies with cream cheese frosting for her friend's birthday. Her comment made me feel so awesome, she said the cuppies were 'magnifique', haha.

HUZAIFAH & HARZIANA
Uploading the last of my raya pics is an atrocious task, but upload I still must.
These are the orders I made for Baizura's cousin, Anom who is sponsoring one bekas hantaran for Bai's brother who was getting engaged on the 3rd day of raya.
Frankly, I'm all out of steam while finishing these cuppies. Jiwa tengah meruntun sangat. Sedih, pedih, pilu...

Cuppies flavours were carrot walnut & rosewater pistachio. I made some extras and they are superbly yummy. My fussy eater hubby commented that the rosewater pistachio tasted like an Indian dessert. Hah, dah rasa baru tau...
To Anom & Bai, thank you soooo much for the trust.
*Edited: Anom just sent me a pic of the two newly-engaged. I can't resist sharing it on this blog coz I really, really think Harziana looks like Umie Aida in here!
Congratulations, you two!

SILVER TEAL
I know for sure that I couldn't afford another last minute order, but how can you say no to Diyana, the famous mommy blogger slash retired Drama Queen whose last words were still ringing in my ears till now, "Eh, orang meniaga mana boleh raya!" in response to my whiny protests.
Huhuhu, jokes aside and my inability to resist her charms (hehheh), I took it as a challenge. All she needed was a simple sweetcase (minus the sweets) and I'd squeeze in 8 pieces of cuppies for her from my existing confirmed orders.
Things were very kancheong indeed since my family held a small kenduri for the kampung folk at my Tok's home and everyone was occupied, but the cuppies were safely delivered and picked up on the very morning of Diyana's SIL's engagement ceremony, with the help of my brother.
Red velvet in silver and teal. Coincidentally, silver teal is a breed of ducks commonly found in South America. Huh.
Muchas gracias, Diyana! Ooh, all of the sudden I'm berfeeling mexicano :)

WAFI & AIIN
Clearing some backlog of photos.
This set was specially made for my cousin's hantaran for the bride, the last of my kancheong kitchen series last week. I finished the pink & purple cupcakes first, then I worked on the chocolate cake for Amsyar, and because I was flat out exhausted by Subuh, these carrot cupcakes were brought to KL and I finished the deco at my brother's place before they were rushed out that evening for the akad nikah ceremony.
Very simple design, but it took me some time and quite an effort and to make those lacey effects. Too bad I didn't have a clearer photo of them. The flowers on the hantaran deco were made by none other than the bride herself! Very classy, right?

WHAT'S UP DOC?
I'm late, I'm late for
A very important date.
No time to say hello, good-bye,
I'm late, I'm late, I'm late
I'm late and when I wave,
I lose the time I save.
My fuzzy ears and whiskers
Took me too mych time to shave.
I run and then I hop, hop, hop,
I wish that I could fly.
There's danger if I dare to
Stop and here's a reason why:
I'm over-due, I'm in a rabbit stew.
Can't even say good-bye,
hello, I'm late, I'm late, I'm late.
What might be missing on my slightly cacat mr bunny are glasses & a pocket watch, but inside that cake is a decadent carrot cake with lots of raisins, mix fruit, walnuts and white chocolate with cream cheese frosting. All there, nothing's missing.
Thank you Kak Aiza for the order!

16 CARROT GOLD
I took on the next challenge to come up with some gold-themed wedding hantaran for Diyana. Brave attempt, I would say, as it was VERY last minute. Luckily Diyana wasn't a fussy customer to deal with.

I had some luck as well as some misfortune while making this set. I had enough carrots to make the carrot walnut-white choc cupcakes, but the fondant didn't appear as 'gold' as I wanted to be. Perhaps with some edible gold dust, they would look much nicer. But I was fortunate enough to have found a charming little genius invention called the tart mould in the shape of a lattice heart, so my heart shaped fondant deco looked very sweet indeed.
But my worst luck was the mistake of purchasing that plasticky signage "Selamat Bertunang" instead of "Selamat Pengantin Baru". My bad for thinking that all the signs in that little box at the bakery supplies shop says "Selamat Pengantin Baru" and didn't check at the payment counter.
So, I only realized my mistake at around 5 pm, so I rushed everything because the store closes at 7 pm. It rained garfields and odies when I arrived at the store just minutes before it closed to get the right sign. Although I managed to solve the problem, I was feeling jittery and nervous the entire time coz I was driving my husband's car that was extremely low on fuel and I had no time to stop for gas. Delivering the cupcakes through the dark and stormy night along an eerie route lined with palm trees did things to my nerves and contributed to really depressing thoughts (probably because I was late for picking up my daughter and I also needed to pee real bad!), but thank heavens it was easy to look for Diyana's home and I made it safely there by 7.30 pm.
I really hope she and her family love these cupcakes, coz I went through h*** and back for them.

12 CARROT GOLD
One of the cupcake flavours that I've always wanted to try is carrot walnut and raisins. And so when a friend (in KL, mind you) wanted to try out my cupcakes and was open to try out new flavours( how brave), this is the outcome!
Carrot-walnut and white chocolate cupcakes. I planned to put in the raisins, unfortunately, we've used up all the raisins for our nasi beriani the day before. Fear not, coz I've found an even better alternative to add a little sweetness to the carroty concoction - white chocolate!
These delightful dozen were packed and delivered via a cupcake 'mule' who boarded a flight back to KL, who must have felt rather silly for toting a dainty paper bag around as a carry-on luggage (punah image macho).
Jokes of these cupcakes being confiscated by custom officials aside (whom we think would devour them to make sure there were no 'cokes' inside), I'm glad that they all survived and were handed to you the next day (yes, you don't have my complete trust, my brother) .
Thank you so much Lynn, you have no idea how honoured I feel for the special order.
