UPDATES

Assalamualaikum & Hello everyone!

It has been a hectic few months for me, so forgive me for not updating much on this blog. Truth is, it's easier to make updates via Facebook and a lot of customers reach me through FB too. The picture albums there are more organized, so head over there for much easier viewing of my previous work, OK.

Now, I've never mentioned it here, but I can also provide special dietary cakes and cupcakes. So if you're in Penang and looking for something vegan (eggless & dairy-free) or gluten-free (no flour) or sugarless/sugar-free, do shoot me an email and we'll talk.

Deliveries to Penang Island and surrounding areas is still available, but due to rising costs, I'll have to increase the delivery charge. You would understand, right? The fuel, time, energy, not to mention, vehicle maintenance, and the worst of all, traffic jams - they can just zap you dry :)

Hugs & kisses to all my loyal customers. Love you guys lots!

Farhan's Pororo Friends!

I almost forgot about this cake! For Kak Niza's baby boy, Farhan. So many things went wrong while making this cake. Firstly, I had a bad case of flu and was feeling kinda woozy. I accidentally spilled the cake batter, and I ran out of cocoa powder to make another batch. Disaster! At the last minute, I changed the cake from a chocolate orange cake to an orange butter cake with orange filling and chocolate ganache, hoping that it could still be a jaffa cake.

Thankfully, Kak Niza didn't mind the change, but I later found out from her that I accidentally used mango filling instead of orange filling! OK, I admit I couldn't tell the difference from the smell since my nose was stuffy. But I'm pretty sure I bought orange filling, as written on the plastic container. How the fillings got switched, I only discovered some time later when I went back to the cake supplies store and saw how both the orange & mango filling looked so much alike @-@

Must have been a funky new flavour, orange butter cake, mango filling & chocolate ganache!

Domo Domo Domo!

This is by far, the most unusual request I've got since I've been in the business.

Domo cupcakes! Ordered by Jue for her college friend who is obsessed with the creature!

My first impression of this Japanese anime character when Jue emailed me Domo's photo was "Ya ampun, hodohnya makhluk!" (It's OK to criticize a creature yang bukan ciptaan Allah SWT kan?) I mean, doesn't it look like a sawed-off tree trunk with legs and a prominent crotch? And don't let me start on that permanent snarl on that face.

But after playing with the fondant for a while, ish, cute plak benda alah ni :D I could understand the fascination. I googled from some videos and found them so frikkin' adorable!

Thank you for the order Jue. I sure hope Yana loved the Domo-kuns to bits!

STRAWBERRY LUX

Old age and dementia must be creeping up on me, I almost left out this luxurious order of dulce de leche cuppies with choc lava filling & choc ganache & strawberry toppers by Fazreen.

Initially, we had other plans for the toppers. However, my fondant wasn't drying very well due to the rainy weather for a couple of days/nights. Which is why I learnt my lesson -  use gumpaste next time since the temperature in my kitchen & house is quite unreliable. Much fast-drying I suppose. So in the last minute, we agreed to use fresh strawberries instead. Alhamdulillah, Fazreen was a very understanding customer.

Thank you so much for your support, Fazreen! I'm really happy the little kiddies liked the cuppies :)

BEARY SPECIAL GIRL

I gotta be honest. I was terribly excited to receive another fondant cupcake order, and this time from Ainul. It was a little difficult working with fondant this time due to the rainy season, but I think I did a pretty good job this time. This set was for her friend Izyan, who stays in Lunas.

I'll let the pictures tell the rest of the story.

Flavour is grasshopper cupcake - a chocolate cupcake with cream of mint filling, and a yet to be named cupcake that has an cream of orange filling.

Suggestions are very much welcomed!
