Mad World

This is a rather uncommon look for my cupcakes. Kak Chaq gave me a call the morning I was about to send the previous oreo cupcakes to my customer and wanted a box of cuppies that very evening. 4.30 pm.

I could have fainted there and then... dahla dua-dua beranak demam... nak delivery lagi.. nak masuk ofis lagi... it's not that I didn't say no to her, but she won't take no for an answer, and that she had promised her friends that I would bake a set for their meet-up later that night. Hurrmmph.. although I should have thought she had an ulterior motive, I said OK.

The moist chocolatey cuppies were topped with buttercream flavoured with strawberry jam and a hastily made gumpaste flowers. This is what I came up with less than two hours!

Next time, no more kerja gila like this!

TQ Teacher!

A good friend of mine, Kak Annaliza wanted to give cupcakes to her students for a Teacher's Day treat. So here they were, all 65 of them individually packed for the kiddos and some for the teacher (a small box for the principal too)

I made hershey's perfectly chocolatey cupcakes with choc lava filling (choc buttercream), blueberry filling (blue blueberry buttercream), mango filling (orange buttercream) and strawberry filling (pink strawberry buttercream). Puas hati! Dapat main-main dengan flavour ni... alas, the buttercream's a little soft & runny coz I'm trying to switch to a golden syrup based frosting instead of icing sugar...

Hope they all walloped the cupcakes none-the-less, Kak Liz!

Cookie Crumble Clicks

Delivering these cookie crumble cuppies to Shidah's husband was quite an adventure. Both my daughter and I were struck with fever, but we trooped on (on foot summore!) despite getting different directions from people to get to our destination :)

Jumpa jugak lah dengan birthday boy. Happy sangat bila wifey buat surprise dekat tempat kerja. Kecoh satu office :D :D

Thank you so much to Shidah & Amirul. May you newlyweds have a blissful marriage, amin.

Red Beauties

Last week was such a roller coaster ride. Somehow I found the strength to complete 35 pieces of red velvets for Kak Nurrulhuda and delivered them to her office in Penang. Alhamdulillah, they loved the unique taste of red velvet despite the simple deco.

There's another box of mixed flavoured cupcakes meant for Kak Nurrul's family, but I forgot to snap a photo! I was given full creative freedom on the cuppies in terms of flavour, so I made her a mix of honey-caramel, raspberry with strawberry filling, cherry-almond, kiwi with kiwi filling and orange with mango filling cupcakes. It was so satisfying to be able to mix these up in a box rather than sticking to a flavour or two :D

Thanks so much for the order Kak Nurrul. Happy Birthday & may Allah SWT bless you always.

For Mama & Baba

Xiau Sze, all the way from Australia, ordered these for her beloved mum & dad last Sunday, which was Mother's Day. I wasn't planning on doing any Mother's Day promotion actually, coz I wanted to rest! But after receiving her email request, I couldn't say no. Moreover, it was her father's birthday too.

Honey caramel cupcakes (new flavour!)

Delivered this box to her parents' home in Padang Serai. Managed to find their house with the help of her little brother who came on a bicycle to meet me at a petrol station. Thanks so much Sze Kai. You're a lifesaver!

Ebi's Dream Cake

Another last minute project for my niece's birthday, Ebi. The barbie cake made her grand entrance, an hour after the makan-makan party started. Ha, talk about being fashionably late. I'm not totally satisfied with my work this time, coz I changed my mind halfway to make this cake from a buttercream to a fondant cake. I was worried the cake would not survive the journey to my in laws' house if it wasn't secured with a fondant dress.

Despite the ala-ala shabby chic outcome, the birthday girl was ecstatic to get her cake. Three layers of chocolate, blueberry & vanilla cake filled with cream cheese and frosted with blueberry buttercream. So happy to see the kids gobble the cake up.

Pretty Reds, Blacks & Whites...

... for Kak Hajar's family, yet again. The children couldn't get enough of 'em apparently, according to her :)

Pretty last minute, so I kept it simple. I knew she likes green cream cheese on top of her red velvets..

Red Velvet Bouquet

Khadijah loved the design of my previous 3 tier cake and wanted something similar for her hantaran cake.

So here it is, luscious red velvet cake with cream cheese.

Selamat Pengantin Baru, Khadijah.

For Prof Angus

I almost left out this order from Ju & Sha (ACMS Kepala Batas). They'd like to surprise their professor on his birthday during class, but there was just one problem. It was very last minute! So, I told them I can squeeze in a few and decorate them very simply.

These are just RM20 for 10 large pieces (paper liner size 10). Siap buat special free delivery lagi kat college.

I hope Prof Angus enjoyed this lovely surprise. Bertuah dapat students macam Ju & Sha :)

Get Well Soon

It's nice to know that sometimes, we don't need a special occasion or something to celebrate over to eat cupcakes.

Sometimes we just need to spread that sweet lovin'.

Obviously carrot-walnut cupcakes lah kan...

Choc mod mint - an easy-breezy favourite :)

Thanks a bunch to Cikgu Niza for these orders. I read on facebook that the whole family came down with fever a short while after I delivered these, so I really hope the sugar helped the medicine go down.
