WHAT I DID LAST RAYA

I've been putting off the task of updating the blog, coz everytime I upload a photo, the quality of it just goes a little off, the colour is all wrong and the most exasperating thing is trying to align the text and photos. Is anyone having the same problem or is it just me?

Anyway, the purpose of this entry is clearing the backlog photos. Thank you to all my friends who have been supporting me throughout the month of Ramadhan & Syawal.

This simple looking choc cake with choc ganache was an order from Mat, a friend of hubby's. 'Controversial' cake, but we sorted it out. Testimonials from his friends who ate the cake during raya were nothing but fantastic, alhamdulillah.

 An old school friend, Irda, ordered 40 pcs of blueberry tarts which she claimed she would eat all herself. Haha, mak buyung mengidam jangan main-main.

HAIL KING AZHAN

For each cake or cupcakes I make, there are important lessons to be learnt. Lesson Number One should be : when you try to convey a message to a customer or a client, make sure they get it! 

Take time, follow up, but not at the last minute. And when you communicate through FB, make sure you hit the 'Reply' button, not the 'Back to Messages' button! Gaahhhhh!

This cake is a surprise from Aisyah to her hubby. I'm so sorry if the crown is far from being king-like, kalau tengok betul-betul, macam princess crown pun ada. I told Aisyah I would try to make the crown stand, and it did momentarily, but I wouldn't be able to close the cake box if it did, so I made the critical decision to just cut of the sides and make it 2D, which was what Aisyah asked for in the first place :(

But I'm grateful to have a customer who wasn't fussy on looks and was very pleased on how the cake tasted. I was told that the cake was a big hit with the birthday boy and the kids.

REZA'S 1st BIRTHDAY

These cuppies were made for Kasuma's anak teruna who just turned 1. Originally I wanted to make tags with The Incredibles theme for him since Kasuma mentioned he's into them at the time, but again, I blame time for not being able to. Last-last, I only managed to buy some cute stickers and made the simple tags. The local supplier was out of the usual cupcake box too. Hampeh.

 Flavours were cherry almond and cookie crumble.

EID WISHES 2010

I didn't have time and the convenience to post Aidilfitri greetings before raya, so I hope it's not too late to do so now.

Here's wishing everyone a very memorable and meaningful Eid, Maaf Zahir & Batin. I was lucky to have been caught up and'immersed' (if 'involved' isn't the more effective word) in the affairs of the celebration, the joyous acts of caring, sharing and giving. 

May Allah protect and bless us for more Ramadhans and Syawals to come.
