SPIDERMAN, WHERE ARE YOU COMING FROM?
Before Tobey Maguire became Spidey as we know today, the only live-action Spiderman I remember watching while growing up was on a very retro show called The Electric Company. Gawd, how I loved that show which has fundamentally contributed to my early childhood education.
And what stuck to my degrading brain till now is the pretty cheesy Spidey Super Story theme song. I used to think it was such a cool song back then :)
This set was ordered by Ieda, again. Flavour is my new creation, the Cookie Crumble. Thank you, Ieda!
HOW THE COOKIE CRUMBLES...
Finally I have some new flavours lined up. Here's presenting, the Cookie Crumble Cupcake. It's a vanilla based cupcake, with lots of Oreo mix-in, topped with white buttecream and more crushed oreos.

VIOLETS ARE BLUE
Being a baker, even for just a part-timer, sometimes I can't help feeling like I'm on an on-call basis.
I received an urgent phone call from a lovely lady whom I've just met, Kak Aida. She's a well known baker and chocolatier who has, wait for it - her own chocolate factory.
Alas, running such a successful business, she could not keep up with the demands of cake making when she has trouble hiring skilled workers herself. So she called me instead.
What an honor it was.
This was made for Kak Aida's customer, Ela, a teacher in Simpang Ampat. The occasion was for Teacher's Day, her gift for her friends. Simple jer lah, 24-notice.
Thank you, Ela and Kak Aida for the opportunity.

BOOLICIOUS BANANA CUPPIES
Once in a blue moon, I get a request that is quite out of the ordinary. And when I got this order of banana cupcakes from Sam (again) who's always game to taste something different, I was elated. Finally, somebody who loves the bananary flavour!
She didn't want anything too fancy, so to dress it up a little bit, I suggested we put cute little tags on the cuppies.

This set was a gift for Sam's boyfriend, and from her response, he loved it very much! Isn't he lucky to have such a thoughtful gal?

As usual, Farisha's mommy ordered their family's favourite flavour, Lemony Snickett's, Zesty Lemon cupcakes with real lemon juice and tangy cream cheese frosting.

MERAH ITU CINTA
Chocolate cupcakes with choc lava filling and white vanilla buttercream frosting for Drama Mama and hubby.
It was an SOS call late one evening from Bai, who would be celebrating her wedding anniversary the next day.
Well Bai, you were this close to sounding like a Desperate Housewife, you know. That's why I didn't have the heart to say no to her request. Although she initially asked for buttercream roses (a technique of which I've yet to master - shame on me), I have to replace that request with these red gum paste flowers I got from a nearby bakery supplies shop when at the last minute, my red butter cream couldn't really hold it's shape well. The second batch of buttercream I made didn't turn out the exact shade that I want, so scrap it. Store-bought gum paste roses to the rescue!
Delivering the cupcakes to her home high up on the hills in Sg. Ara was a different adventure altogether. Well, as the saying goes, you'll never get lost in the streets of Penang.
A good thing none-the-less, coz I've always wanted to meet the pretty Drama Mama and her son Irfan. Akhirnya, sampai jugak hasrat, walaupun sekejap cuma. Eceh!
Happy 3rd Anniversary to Bai & Amin, and of coz the little cheeky Irfan too :) Thank you so much for the order. Next time ada pasai nak order jangan lupa calling-calling Anne ok?
p/s: Oh yeah, Bai is the founder of Twinky Winky Stars. Check out her blog to see her excellent creations.

CAN YOU TELL ME HOW TO GET...
... how to get to Sesame Street!
I must admit, my favourite characters from the show are Oscar the Grouch (coz he's tries so hard to be mean!). He's one of the more interesting character's around.
And Big Bird. What a big heart he has. I wish I have the time to make more Sesame Street characters for my nephie-poo, Ieman's birthday, but this was all I can come up with in such a short notice.
I was worried that the kids would be turned off by his ugly mossy colour, but to my surprise, Oscar was more popular than Big Bird!
Mini-sized cuppies that were a hit at the party.
