GONE DOTTY

What I love about being in this 'sweet' business is when I keep meeting nice and sweet people, like Shahnaz, who has complete and utter faith in me to come up with some special treats for her mother.

And how sweet of her to travel all the way from the city to her hometown in Alor Setar, to surprise that poor mother of hers on the latter's birthday, tercongok depan pintu with 3 boxes of cakes!

A mix of chocolate & peanut butter, jaffa and coffee cupcakes with vanilla and chocolate buttercream

It wasn't easy for me to cater to orders on a weekday, so I hope everyone didn't mind the simple designs.

Dulce De Leche cupcakes, which according to Shahnaz, were her favourite flavour. Thanks a bunch, babe!

ENTROPHY

The day I made and delivered these cuppies was one of those days the law of Mr. Murphy befell me. It was a looooong day and a loooooong story that I shall spare my readers, but in the end, Alhamdulillah - everything worked out great for everyone.

Dear Ishtar, I'm so sorry for the trouble you went through. I learnt a valuable lesson through the ordeal, and I must thank you for it. I do hope your friend loved the cupcakes.

ONE

This was also made for Alin's birthday. As you can see, the ribbon and the cat figurine is an epic failure. I should really research and practice more with gumpaste as it should give a better result than the home made fondant. The guests couldn't figure out what creature that was on the cake! While they were not a total disaster, the fondant covering cracking and sliding off the cake was, which was why I resorted to so much cover-ups.

Imperfections aside, I was given credit for the much-loved and yummy orange cake. Also, muchas gracias to a very kind employee at a nearby Swensen's restaurant, who heard my panicky plea and gave me a single candle that I've forgotten to bring, free of charge.

PRETTY CUPPIES

Eighty pieces of these colourful cuppies in assorted flavours, ready to be packed in individual butterfly cases convinced myself that I'm capable of doing great things. I'm back to my old self, being challenged to focus on the quality of taste, rather than fuss of how am I going to make them look perfectly frosted and decorated.

And I finally gave blueberry it's blue colour! Haha.

Thank you, Ieda, for the generous order. I hope those who received your little gifts will feel truly blessed as you did with your daughter, Alin's first birthday.

ANNIE GET YOUR GUN

Frankly speaking, I fail big time when it comes to buttercream drawings. When I needed to complete these orders for Amer, I called for back up. Man of the house (from now on will be referred as Mr. MOTH) came to the rescue. He showed me how to draw the guns and the cuffs.
