WAFI & AIIN

Clearing some backlog of photos.

This set was specially made for my cousin's hantaran for the bride, the last of my kancheong kitchen series last week. I finished the pink & purple cupcakes first, then I worked on the chocolate cake for Amsyar, and because I was flat out exhausted by Subuh, these carrot cupcakes were brought to KL and I finished the deco at my brother's place before they were rushed out that evening for the akad nikah ceremony.

Very simple design, but it took me some time and quite an effort and to make those lacey effects. Too bad I didn't have a clearer photo of them. The flowers on the hantaran deco were made by none other than the bride herself! Very classy, right?

I couldn't stop gawking at the magnificent and perfect wedding cake! I scrutinized the whole 4 tiers and not an inch of flaw. Nada. Telan jer air liur tak dapat rasa...

MARCH MADNESS

March has been nothing but madness to me. So many things happening at the same time, and to top it off, banyak pulak inquiries for cakes and cupcakes, which most of them I had to decline *sobs*

These were part of my kancheong kitchen series last Thursday night. For Eila from MPSP and her now hubby Khairul, thank you so much for the order.

FOR AMSYAR

There are times when I wished time would pause for me, for I needed a minute to catch my breath. But the ticking of the clock was steady as compared to my racing heart, furiously frantically beating to make up for the loss.

At times I wished my eyes were not so heavy, my body devoid of signs of exhaustion, and sleep was the last thing on my mind.

Often I prayed that the time and energy I could have spent for my frowning little one who vied for my attention, just to make another little one smile, is all worth the sacrifice.

Happy 4th Birthday, Amsyar... and thank you, my old friend Yan for taking the trouble to pick up the cake though it was way off your route to Penang.

BUTTERFLY

Spread you wings and prepare to fly
For you have become a butterfly (Oooh)
Fly abandonedly into the sun
If you should return to me
We truly were meant to be,
so spread your wings and fly
Butterfly

These butterfly cupcakes was a last minute order from my aunt, Mak Baek. Really last minute as in, petang ni order, esok pagi nak! It was clearly a rush job and I wished I had more time to perfect the cuppies but she and the recipients loved them the same.

p/s: I don't know what the heck is wrong with blogger but the colours in all the pics uploaded here are OFF! The maroon colour of these cuppies are not as hideous as they appear, okay!

YOU BELONG WITH ME

While I was making this cuppies for Jaz, the famous Taylor Swift's song kept playing at the back of my mind. I'm sure the sneakers got something to do with it.

Flavour is Macho Mod Mint, perfectly minty chocolatey cupcakes with pepperrmint buttercream, my favourite! And the recipient of the cupcakes loved them too that he almost immediately placed an order for his father's birthday, which is coming soon.

Happy Anniversary, Jaz & Amer. May both of you belong together, forever.

SALAM MAULID

These are just simple chocolate cuppies ordered by Kak Nisha from MPSP. These are to be given away during their agama class in conjunction of Maulidur Rasul celebration.

Chocolate mocha cake with chocolate ganache and chocolate buttercream.  I found out that if we put a layer of ganache on top of a cake and then, put on some buttercream (vanilla or chocolate), the blend of flavour is amazing!

They're supposed to be put in the special cupcake boxes (the one with 25 holes in them), but at the last minute, there were changes of plans and some of the cupcakes needed to be put in individual boxes. Lucky I had some extra butterfly gift boxes lying around. So the remaining 16 were just put in this simple clear plastic box.

Thanks Kak Nisha for the order. Apa-apa yang terkurang, Anne mintak maaf dan minta halal ye.

TOBEY'S MOUSEY

When I received another email from Sam inquiring about a cake for her pet's birthday, complete with a sample photo, I almost fell off my chair! Not that I think it's a silly request or anything, I just find it too funny and so unbelievable, that someone actually trusted me with such confidence.

Initially Sam wanted a Pomeranian figurine on top of her cake, but with my limited skill, this is the best that I could come up with. A figurine of a toy mouse that Tobey used to have.

Isn't she gorgeous? Sam has a very big heart and was a very nice customer. And look how sweet Tobey is? He barked madly at me the first time I went to Sam's house, I'm surprised at how small he really is. He sounded like a BIG dog!

It's an 8 inch cake covered in home-rolled fondant. Yes, I made the fondant myself! The flavour of the cake was peaches and cream. I baked the extra batter into a smaller cake pan, and tried it myself. I must say the cake was very moist and delicious, I couldn't stop eating it!

Thank you Sam & sorry for the bad spelling, hehe.
